Sustainable commitment honoured once again

Blickle Räder+Rollen GmbH u. Co. KG has once again been recognised for its commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). In the latest assessment by the international platform EcoVadis, Blickle was once again able to achieve the silver medal. With 71 out of a possible 100 points, Blickle is among the top 8 per cent of all companies evaluated worldwide – a further improvement compared to last year, when the company was among the top 14 per cent.

Particularly encouraging: Blickle is among the top 3 per cent in its industry peer group – last year it was the top 6 per cent. ‘The continuous improvement of our ranking underlines our efforts to firmly anchor sustainability in all areas of our company,’ explains the management. Among the decisive factors for this year's excellent performance was the ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety management systems. Since 2019, Blickle has been regularly assessed by EcoVadis in order to objectively measure and further develop its own progress in the area of sustainability. ‘For us, sustainability is not a one-time task, but a long-term process,’ emphasise the managing partners Dr. Sarah Blickle-Fenner and David Blickle. ’We are proud to have continued to improve in an increasingly demanding environment and see this as an incentive to continue our efforts.’

EcoVadis is one of the world's most renowned platforms for evaluating the sustainability performance of companies. Since its foundation in 2007, the agency has analysed more than 130,000 companies from 220 industries in 180 countries. The assessment is based on an independent and scientifically sound process that is based on international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ISO 26000 and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The EcoVadis certification includes a comprehensive review of companies' sustainability performance based on four criteria: environment, working conditions, business practices and procurement.

With this renewed certification, Blickle is demonstrating that sustainable business practices and the success of a family-owned company can go hand in hand – to the benefit of the environment, employees and all business partners.
